Saved! (2004) is a teen drama/comedy by Brian Dannelly. It explores the world of a couple of high-school teenagers in a rather Christian environment. The protagonist (played by Jena Malone) struggles with her faith, bearing the child of her gay boyfriend as a result of trying to 'convert' him to being straight, and starts to become estranged from her overly-Christian friends.

Welcome to the Dollhouse

Welcome to the Dollhouse (1995) is a dark comedy by Todd Solondz, and his first feature movie. It tells the story of a girl in 7th grade,  played by Heather Matarazzo, who tries to deal with all the pain and troubles that come with being a 13-year old. With the situations she finds herself in blown up to grotesque proportions, it causes for some hilariously painful moments.
